The Case of Beverly Monroe

Brainwashing−cases in which interrogators deceitfully persuaded suspects that they simply must have committed the crimes. The technique typically involves lying to the suspects about the evidence, suggesting that there is no doubt they committed the crimes, and offering possible explanations of why they cannot remember committing them.

This chapter also includes the cases of Michael Crowe, Peter Reilly, Michael Altenburger, and Gerald Martin Anderson.
